Silvia Figueirôa
Silvia Fernanda de Mendonça Figueirôa é geóloga pela Universidade de São Paulo (1981), mestre (1987) e doutora (1992) em História Social pela Universidade de São Paulo, ambas com especialização em História das Ciências. Obteve a livre-docência em 2001 pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP) e tornou-se professora titular em 2006. Realizou seu pós-doutorado no Centre Alexandre Koyré d’Histoire des Sciences et des Techniques (França, 2002). De 1987 a 2013 foi professora no Instituto de Geociências da UNICAMP, onde exerceu o cargo de Diretora (2009-2013). A partir de 2014, integrou a Faculdade de Educação da UNICAMP. Possui experiência na área de História, com ênfase em História das Ciências, bem como no Ensino de (Geo)Ciências e na temática de arquivos científicos, trabalhando principalmente com os seguintes temas: História das Ciências e Geociências, com ênfase no Brasil; relações entre história da ciência e ensino; e documentação científica/tecnológica. Atua nos níveis de graduação e pós-graduação, orientando iniciação científica, pesquisas de mestrado e doutorado, além de supervisionar pós-doutorados. Participa das seguintes associações científicas: Membro, desde 1987, da International Commission on the History of Geological Sciences (INHIGEO – IUPHS/IUGS), onde exerceu a presidência de 2008 a 2012; Presidente da Sociedade Latino-Americana de História da Ciência e Tecnologia (SLHCT) (1995-1998); Conselheira (1997-1999 e 2015-2017), Presidente-eleita (1999-2001) e Presidente (2001-2002) da History of Earth Sciences Society (HESS); Presidente da International Commission Science & Empires (IUPHS-DHS) (2001-2005). Membro Correspondente da Academia Internacional de História das Ciências (IAHS) (desde 2019).
Silvia Fernanda de Mendonça Figueirôa, Geologist from the University of São Paulo (1981), master (1987) and doctorate (1992) in Social History from the University of São Paulo, both in the speciality of History of Sciences. She obtained her professorship in 2001 at the State University of Campinas and became a full professor in 2006. Her post-doctorate was at the Center Alexandre Koyré d’Histoire des Sciences et des Techniques (France, 2002). From 1987 until 2013 she was a professor at the Geosciences Institute at UNICAMP, where she held the position of Director (2009-2013). From 2014 onwards, he joined the Faculty of Education at UNICAMP. He has experience in the area of History, with an emphasis on History of Sciences, as well as Teaching (Geo)Sciences and the theme of scientific archives, working mainly on the following themes: History of sciences and Geosciences, with an emphasis on Brazil; relationships between history of science and teaching; scientific/technological documentation. He works at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, guiding scientific initiation, master’s and doctoral research, as well as supervising post-doctorates. Participates in the following scientific associations: Member, since 1987, of the International Commission on the History of Geological Sciences (INHIGEO – IUPHS/IUGS), holding the presidency from 2008 to 2012; President of the Latin American Society for the History of Science and Technology (SLHCT) (1995-1998); Councilor (1997-1999 and 2015-2017), President-elect (1999-2001) and President (2001-2002) of the History of Earth Sciences Society (HESS); President of the International Commission Science & Empires (IUPHS-DHS) (2001 to 2005). Corresponding Member of the International Academy of the History of Sciences (IAHS) (from 2019).
