Ana Soraya R. C. Marques<\/strong> \u00e9 bi\u00f3loga e paleont\u00f3loga angolana, com uma forma\u00e7\u00e3o e percurso profissional que cruzam ci\u00eancia, museologia e divulga\u00e7\u00e3o cient\u00edfica. \u00c9 Diretora do Museu Nacional de Hist\u00f3ria Natural de Angola desde abril de 2025, cargo em que lidera o desenvolvimento estrat\u00e9gico, cient\u00edfico e educativo da institui\u00e7\u00e3o, coordenando a gest\u00e3o das cole\u00e7\u00f5es, o planeamento de exposi\u00e7\u00f5es, a cria\u00e7\u00e3o de parcerias internacionais e a\u00e7\u00f5es de media\u00e7\u00e3o cient\u00edfica junto do p\u00fablico.<\/p>

\u00c9 mestre em Paleontologia pela Universidade Nova de Lisboa (2024), com uma disserta\u00e7\u00e3o dedicada \u00e0 descri\u00e7\u00e3o anat\u00f3mica e an\u00e1lise filogen\u00e9tica de um novo cr\u00e2nio de dicinodonte da Forma\u00e7\u00e3o K5 do Graben de Metangula (Mo\u00e7ambique), e licenciada em Biologia pela Universidade de \u00c9vora (2020). Possui ainda um bacharelato em Ambiente e Gest\u00e3o de Territ\u00f3rio pela Universidade Metodista de Angola (2012) e frequentou um curso intensivo em Ci\u00eancias Evolutivas no Turkana Basin Institute, Qu\u00e9nia (2013), afiliado \u00e0 Stony Brook University (EUA).<\/p>

Entre 2012 e 2024 integrou o Projeto PaleoAngola, colaborando em expedi\u00e7\u00f5es cient\u00edficas de prospe\u00e7\u00e3o e escava\u00e7\u00e3o de f\u00f3sseis nas prov\u00edncias do Bengo, Namibe, Benguela e Cabinda, e participando na montagem de exposi\u00e7\u00f5es em institui\u00e7\u00f5es de renome, como o Smithsonian Institution (EUA) e o Natuurhistorisch Museum (Pa\u00edses Baixos). Destaca-se o seu envolvimento no projeto Mosassaurus 3D<\/em> (2024), que combinou t\u00e9cnicas de tomografia computorizada e impress\u00e3o 3D para reconstruir um esqueleto de 11 metros.<\/p>

Trabalhou tamb\u00e9m como t\u00e9cnica de laborat\u00f3rio no Dino Parque da Lourinh\u00e3 (Portugal, 2022\u20132024), onde participou na prepara\u00e7\u00e3o, conserva\u00e7\u00e3o e reconstitui\u00e7\u00e3o de f\u00f3sseis de dinossauros e crocodilomorfos, coordenando atividades laboratoriais e de divulga\u00e7\u00e3o cient\u00edfica. Colaborou ainda com a Sociedade de Hist\u00f3ria Natural de Torres Vedras e com a Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Kissama, em projetos de conserva\u00e7\u00e3o da biodiversidade e educa\u00e7\u00e3o ambiental.<\/p>

Possui diversas forma\u00e7\u00f5es complementares em curadoria de cole\u00e7\u00f5es de hist\u00f3ria natural, histologia de f\u00f3sseis, filogenia, e gest\u00e3o museol\u00f3gica, realizadas em institui\u00e7\u00f5es como o Naturalis Biodiversity Centre (Leiden) e a Universidade de Bonn. \u00c9 fluente em portugu\u00eas e ingl\u00eas, com dom\u00ednio interm\u00e9dio de espanhol.<\/p>

A sua produ\u00e7\u00e3o cient\u00edfica inclui comunica\u00e7\u00f5es em congressos internacionais de paleontologia, nomeadamente no Encontro de Jovens Investigadores em Paleontologia (EJIP), no Congresso da APPBG e no Paleo Spring Meeting, bem como publica\u00e7\u00f5es previstas no Journal of Vertebrate Paleontology<\/em>. Tem participado ativamente em iniciativas de divulga\u00e7\u00e3o cient\u00edfica e educa\u00e7\u00e3o, como oficinas e exposi\u00e7\u00f5es no Pavilh\u00e3o do Conhecimento \u2013 Centro Ci\u00eancia Viva e em festivais culturais como o Artes \u00e0 Rua<\/em> (\u00c9vora).<\/p>

Al\u00e9m da investiga\u00e7\u00e3o cient\u00edfica, Ana Soraya Marques tem uma expressiva liga\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e0s artes e \u00e0 performance. Ana Soraya R. C. Marques<\/strong> is an Angolan biologist and paleontologist whose academic and professional background bridges science, museology, and science communication. She has been Director of the National Museum of Natural History of Angola since April 2025, a position in which she leads the institution\u2019s strategic, scientific, and educational development, overseeing collections management, exhibition planning, the creation of international partnerships, and science outreach initiatives for the public.<\/p>

She holds a Master\u2019s degree in Paleontology from NOVA University Lisbon (2024), with a dissertation focused on the anatomical description and phylogenetic analysis of a new dicynodont skull from the K5 Formation of the Metangula Graben (Mozambique), and a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Biology from the University of \u00c9vora (2020). She also holds a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Environment and Land Management from the Methodist University of Angola (2012) and attended an intensive course in Evolutionary Sciences at the Turkana Basin Institute in Kenya (2013), affiliated with Stony Brook University (USA).<\/p>

Between 2012 and 2024, she was a member of the PaleoAngola Project, participating in scientific expeditions for fossil prospecting and excavation in the provinces of Bengo, Namibe, Benguela, and Cabinda, and contributing to the preparation of exhibitions in renowned institutions such as the Smithsonian Institution (USA) and the Natuurhistorisch Museum (Netherlands). Notably, she was involved in the Mosassaurus 3D Project (2024), which combined computed tomography and 3D printing techniques to reconstruct an 11-meter skeleton.<\/p>

She also worked as a laboratory technician at the Dino Parque da Lourinh\u00e3 (Portugal, 2022\u20132024), where she participated in the preparation, conservation, and reconstruction of dinosaur and crocodylomorph fossils, while coordinating laboratory and science communication activities. She has collaborated with the Natural History Society of Torres Vedras and the Kissama Foundation on biodiversity conservation and environmental education projects.<\/p>
